PASTOR DAWN'S FAREWELL

Pastor Dawn Roginski’s three year term as Pastor of Parish Programs ends this Sunday. Pastor Dawn brought many skills to her Call and grew in her ministry with us over these last three years. We will miss her. She will be received into the ELCA Clergy Roster (see left) and is currently pursuing a Call to another congregation.

Please join us today after worship for a farewell luncheon hosted by our own Lydia Circle!

Godspeed and Auf Wiedersehen Pastor Dawn!

VOTE ON RELATIONSHIP TO ELCA SUNDAY, JULY 25 AFTER WORSHIP

At a special meeting of the Congregation Council Sunday, July 25 was selected for the Special and historic Congregational Meeting; to be preceded by a mailing of FAQ’s and an extensive information meeting on Sunday, July 11.

An information meeting will be held on July 11 after worship. A luncheon will be provided as we get updated on the nuts and bolts of what has happened. Then we will break out into groups of 6, moderated by a council member, so that everyone has an opportunity to speak, raise questions and discuss with others. Any view will be of equal value.

Moderators will not share their own opinions, and someone else in the group will be a recorder. We will then gather to report to the whole group. At that time any questions will be answered and other items will be considered.

The council wants everyone to be as fully informed on the issues so that, after 2 weeks of prayerful reflection, voting members will vote on Sunday, July 25. The constitution requires voting members to be present to vote and to be an active member of St. Francis. An official notice will be sent to members in the near future.

May’s Synod Assembly voted overwhelmingly to invite St. Francis to return to the ELCA and this is the constitutional basis for our process.

PLEASE JOIN US JULY 25TH FOR THIS IMPORTANT MEETING. LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.

Bring your calendar

The Stewardship Committee will be hosting St. Francis’ quarterly Bring-Your-Calendar Sunday coffee hour on June 20. Please bring you calendar on that date and sign up for worship assistant opportunities (crucifer, coffee hour host, providing altar flowers, etc. )

We are especially in need of coffee hour hosts and will have a list of people with us who have indicated interest in hosting so you can find a buddy to help you host. And remember - you don’t have to be a foodie to host coffee hour. This year’s stewardship theme is “Make It Simple”, and the Stewardship Committee would like to remind everyone that coffee hour spreads do not have to be elaborate, just one or two items such as cheese and crackers, or store-bought cookies, is all that is needed.

computer

Thanks to the generosity of Stephen Lawson we now have a laptop for use for committee minute writing and presentations. Council and committee members should make arrangements with Dave Walda to use it. It cannot be taken home.

PRIDE IS COMING

Make plans now to walk with Bishop Holmerud, Bishop's Asst., Nancy Feniuk Nelson and Lutheran supporters of Queer Rights from all over the Bay Area.

Sunday, June 27
Starting location to be announced.
This is an exhilarating experience!

Also needed are two monitors. Please contact Pastor Robert if you can be a monitor.
