WE REMEMBER IN PRAYER: |
Several members of St. Francis will be marching this year. At 10:30 a.m. Bishop Mark Holmerud and Episcopal Bishop Marc Andrus will jointly celebrate the eucharist at the Episcopal contingent site #208 which will be on Beale Street between Folsom and Harrison Streets. The Lutherans Concerned contingent will be at #207 —directly in front of the Episcopalians.
Pastor Dawn will be present at the joint eucharist and Pastor Robert will preach and preside at St. Francis.

From the Facebook Page: "We must do everything in our power to enlist our straight allies, family members, co-workers to march side by side with us on October 11 for the National Equality March on Washington." If you are Straight, if you are LGBT, COME OUT to March on Washington this October, to demand equal protection under the law for EVERYONE!
See their website:
www.nationalequalitymarch.com which includes a blog and the Facebook page for more information.

This will appear in the Pride Sunday bulletin. Since this tends to not be a big crowd at church, I hope team members will read this on-line.
Our on-line donations have now grown to $5,640.00 ( it was $4940 last week). This is good though most of the gain came from Max, and Patrick, and two of our new members Michael Deschenes and Cary Bass, who were already on board. Of the “missing” 52 Lutherans, we have one new account, Brandee.
Am I worried? No, ‘cause... 1) Lot’s of you simply collect checks, and.. 2) the rest fit the category of Reticent Lutherans. You just put off asking folks.
May I suggest that it really is time to make up your lists and contact your people.
Now Go! Ask! Be pleasant, be fetching!
Thank you all. Max.

On Thursday, September 10, the All San Francisco Concert Committee will sponsor a concert for the whole community at Davies Symphony Hall. The Concert recreates the Opening Night concert program with Michael Tilson Thomas and pianist Ilya Yakushev:
For this to work for us we will need a minimum of 10 tickets at $10 each paid in advance no later than Sunday, July 26. Let’s go together and enjoy that special evening! See the pastors.

Walk around Lake Merced followed by a Big Rumble Block Party!!
CROP Hunger Walks help children and families worldwide -- and right here in the U.S. -- to have food for today, while building for a better tomorrow. Each year some two million CROP Walkers, volunteers, and sponsors put their hearts and soles in motion, raising over $16 million per year to help end hunger and poverty around the world -- as well as here in our backyard of San Francisco. Come and be a part of this walk to end hunger on October 18!
The 2009 San Francisco CROP Walk, our 30th year, will benefit the San Francisco Food Bank, the San Francisco Interfaith Council Winter Shelter Program, as well as Church World Service, the sponsoring organization that provides a broad range of poverty fighting projects around the world.
