EASTER FLOWERS

Flowers for Easter will be accepted at the church office through Friday April 10. The flowers can also be dropped off at one of the services that week, including the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening.

It is requested that you do not bring lilies since there are persons in the congregation and staff who would be negatively affected by the strong fragrance of these flowers. Please bring other colorful spring flowers to allow all to enjoy the Easter celebration.

Please contact Dave Walda at the office if you wish to bring flowers during the week day hours when the office is open.

The Stewardship Committee would like to thank Brian Border, Paul Brenner, Jim Kowalski and Bruce Jervis for hosting Lenten discussion groups. Participants remarked that the small groups were a very meaningful and spiritually refreshing part of their Lenten journeys. In response to the excellent turnout, the Stewardship Committee will coordinate another series of discussion groups in September around the theme"Greet the Fall with Thought and Purpose ." Details will be provided in The Times this summer.

SELL-OUT AT BOOK SIGNING

Paul Brenner, costumed appropriate to the theme of his new book, had a very successful book signing at St. Francis last Saturday. Paul’s novel, set in 68 CE and which tells the story of the disciple who loved Jesus, and flees to Egypt, was originally published in December, 2008 by Xlibris Corporation.

At Saturday’s event, Paul sold all of his copies of the paperback edition. Paul was very pleased and says “Thank you to all who supported the launch of my novel. If anyone would like to order a book, please contact me by email or phone. $70 was raised to support the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Committee.”
