Stories to Tell logo

is our theme for 2007-08. Beginning at worship today, and continuing every Sunday throughout the year, we will hear one of our own tell their story of being involved at St. Francis and why being part of this congregation’s ministry is so important to that person.

Our weekly Q&A also begins today with this question: What is stewardship? Stewardship refers to the responsibility that we have in wisely using the gifts that God has given to us - our resources of time, abilities and money.

Next week: How is stewardship lived at St. Francis?

Here’s Stewardship of Life for you:

UPDATE ON THE FOOD BASKET

It has been wonderful to see the basket of food processing to the altar during Sunday worship. Some of the food has been used to make soup for the homeless, which is one of their favorite meals. Please continue to bring your food offering to church on Sunday mornings and leave it in the basket as you enter the sanctuary.

Food that can be accepted include: canned vegetables, canned fruit, tuna, canned meats, soups, stews and chili, peanut butter and cereal (no glass containers or perishable food, please). Some of the food will be used for Sunday’s Community Hospitality. The remaining donations will be given to the San Francisco Food Bank.-Pastor Dawn

SUNDAY CLASS

We continue to read Bishop John Spong’s latest book, Jesus for the Non Religious. As usual this is a provocative book. Please join us for an animated discussion. Pastor Robert
