CATHARINE COON TELLS OF UGANDAN PROJECT

Catharine Coon, on leave from her ministry in Uganda, Africa, the Children of Hope Project, which St. Francis supports and prays for every Sunday, worshipped with us and brought greetings. Catharine told of the growing success of her ministry with orphaned children and children head of house-holds. We are very glad that we too can help in the outreach of nurture and healing for children in Uganda, East Africa.

THANKS FOR THE PIANO
Following the requests for the donation of a piano for the Parish Hall, Devon Grant came to the rescue. He donated his Spinet piano so that the Seniors would have a good instrument for their sing-alongs and other piano concerts. Thanks goes to Richard Copperud who funded the cost of moving the piano to the church.
We still need a cover and moving dolly. A cover costs about $200.00, and the dolly is $500.00. Since these expenses were not budgeted, donations for these items are being requested. Those that can contribute toward the cover and dolly should mark an envelope or check for "Piano".
WHY IS OUR FOOD BASKET EMPTY?
Many of us seem to have forgotten about our food basket which sits empty in the back of the sanctuary across the aisle from the baptismal font. The basket was originally intended to be a component of our weekly offering. All of the food that is collected is donated to the San Francisco Food Bank to help feed the 1 in 5 San Franciscans who face hunger each day.

Urgently needed items include: canned vegetables, canned fruit, tuna, canned meats, soups, stews and chili, peanut butter and cereal (no glass containers or perishable food, please).
Bring your food offering to church on Sunday mornings and leave it in the basket as you enter the sanctuary.
152 is St. Francis' street address. This column will have articles of special note from time to time.
