Dawn Roginski

ROGINSKI ORDINATION SET FOR JUNE 16

Mark this date! Pastor-elect Dawn Roginski will be ordained at St. Francis on Saturday, June 16th in the afternoon. Dawn will be installed the following day during regular worship as Pastor of Parish Programs at St. Francis. This will be an Extraordinary ordination. Dawn cannot be ordained in the Ordinary manner by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) because she refuses to sign the ELCA’s unjust celibacy requirement expected only of LGBTI clergy. Dawn’s ordination is another expression of what St. Francis stands for in the continuing struggle for reformation of a Reformation church, the ELCA. Please reserve this weekend. It will be a festive and prophetic event.

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME BRUNCH SUNDAY APRIL 29

On Sunday, April 29 after worship, there will be a New Members Brunch hosted by the Congregation Council. Please stay after church for a delightful meal, to welcome our new members and to learn something about each one of them. This event, on the fifth Sunday of the month, is part of a new program devised by the Congregation Council, to do something special on fifth Sundays during the year. The next fifth Sunday, July 29th, will be our first Fifth Sunday Forum and it will combine the coffee hour with an open forum of Council and Congregation on our worship life. Another Fifth Sunday Forum is planned for September 30th as an open forum on our Property.

Please call Dave at the church office if you plan on attending.

SUNDAY CLASS

We are reading Diana Bass' Christianity For the Rest of Us, a real alternative to the religious right and a model with which to test St. Francis' vision.

FRIENDS OF ST. FRANCIS MOMENT

We are introducing this Friends of St. Francis Moment as a new weekly addition to the Times to give you updates on what is happening at your Childcare Center. Biggest news now: our Parents are busy planning our May 12th Spring Fling and would love to know if you have a connection at a restaurant or food market for donations of appetizer/hors d’oeuvres to serve at the event. Contact Gabriel at 415-643-3753.

To order tickets for the Spring Fling Auction and Casino Night go to the Childcare Center website website

AIDS WALK 2007

Surely it is way too early to be reading notices of an event that doesn’t occur until July 15. You would think so, and you would be wrong. AWSF Headquarters is gearing up and we need to do so as well. So.....

1. Save July 15th for the walk. No weddings, no Hawaiian jaunts, no Alaska cruises. Just save the date.

2. As before, I will register everyone who was on our team list last year whether you walked or not. If you can’t do it this year, I suggest (a) a really good persuasive reason and (b) you need to let me know before April 29.

3. If you register independently, remember to identify yourself as being on the St. Francis - SFSU Geography Team #1127.

4. A new or used, mint condition or tragically hokey, white T-shirt. We will tie dye team T-shirts this year. You can also wear a team shirt from the past years.
