IN THE MAIL: CALL COMMITTEE RECOMENDATION

The St. Francis Call Committee has recommended Dawn Roginski for the Pastor of Parish Programs position. Documents with information about the selection process, Dawn's background and experience and the Call Committee's rationale for selecting her were mailed to every member of St. Francis last week. If you did not receive these documents in the mail, please contact Dave Walda in the office to make sure your address is correct. Copies of the mailing are also available in the narthex for you to take after worship.

Please plan to attend worship next Sunday, March 11, to hear Dawn preach, hear from the Call Committee during coffee hour, meet Dawn, and participate in a question and answer session. A special meeting of the congregation is being planned for March 25 to vote on calling Dawn.

Please contact any member of the Call Committee if you have any questions: Dale Leininger (chair), Scott Beckerley, Rob Byrne, Marilyn Jackson, Susan Kools, Jim Kowalski, Debora Tully or Marsha White.

Lent at St. Francis
Wednesdays in Lent

TAIZE
A Joint Lenten Journey by

St. Francis Lutheran Church
&
Metropolitan Community Church

Wednesdays at 7 PM at St. Francis beginning February 28th

Joint Lenten Services

St. Francis Lutheran Church and the Metropolitan Community Church join this Lenten season on Wednesday evenings for a Taizé service. This service, a product of the monastic community near Burgundy, France, uses silence, light and meditation through music and prayer. In the service, the leader says a prayer, then the congregation sings a response, holding the last note while the leader speaks the next prayer.

Last Wednesday’s Taizé was fantastic. Services begin at 7PM on Wednesday during the season of Lent.

COMPLETED SERVICE ON THE FOUNDATION COMMITTEE

The St. Francis Foundation wishes to thank Sylvia Braselmann and Eric Shifler for their very able and valuable service as members of the Foundation Committee over the past three years. Sylvia and Eric complete their terms on the Committee this month, and we all greatly appreciate their commitment and contributions to the important work of the Foundation. Congratulations on a job well done!- Rob Byrne, Chair.

A new membership directory will be printed soon. Please notify Dave Walda at the office if your address, phone number, and email has changed.

PEW CARD FOR YOU TO USE

Pew Card front

At last, the pew cards are here. You will find them in the racks on the back of the pews. Note the various ways they can be used to communicate with the staff of the congregation. Unfortunely, this batch was not scored so they could be easily torn apart. Please drop the whole card, or the lower portion if you can separate the parts, in the offering plate or hand it to an usher.

Film

Walking Side by Side a 5-minute video by Stephen Lawson about the St. Francis / SFSU Geography AIDS Walk Team, will premiere today during coffee hour in the Parish Hall.
