PASTOR OF PARISH PROGRAMS CALL COMMITTEE Members of this committee are meeting regularly to prepare for advertising the Job Announcement. They will have met three times with members of the congregation to hear your vision of what the Pastor of Parish Programs should be and answer questions you might have. The last meeting is this morning after worship. Our thanks to the many members and friends of St. Francis who pitched in to help us through our interim transition. Your work is deeply appreciated and made the staffs work easier. Thanks so much. TODAY AFTER WORSHIP SERVICE Meet with the PPP Call Committee in the Conference Room to hear your input and concerns, and answer your questions. GAY GAMES: FINAL RESULTS In the Standard Ballroom Competition, Rachel Hoobing and her partner came in third place. The Formation Team placed 2nd. COUNCIL AUTHORIZES THE FORMATION OF THE BELCHER STREET REDEVELOPMENT STUDY GROUP This Study Group will explore options and make recommendations to the council and the congregation on how this property might be redeveloped while keeping in step with our current mission and vision for the future. This initiative came out of the Council's long-range planning discussion it held at its March retreat. If you would like additional information, please contact a council member. The first meeting will be Sunday, October `1, 2006. Everyone is invited to participate. SEND THOSE PROFILES BACK Many returns have been received already. Please take a moment to fill out and return yours if one was mailed to you. UPDATE ON THE ORGAN RENOVATION PROGRAM We are getting closer to our $40,000 goal. The contract has been signed and parts ordered for the first three phases, so progress is being made. THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN SO GENEROUS WITH GIFTS AND PLEDGES. For those that have not made a gift or pledge, please contact David Walda, Parish Administrator for a copy of The Organ at St. Francis, or with any questions. The end of the pledge period is August 6, 2006. All those that contribute can dedicate their contribution in memory of, or in honor of, someone. AIDS WALK POST-WALK UPDATE While I still have no official figures from AWSF, I can tell you our on-line solicitations now stand at $25,670, an increase of $1,775 since last week. From conversations with Greg E., Brian K., Debbie C., Babs, and Jack K., I am confident our team total now is over $50,000. A few persons responded to my email of July 24, but I still have not heard from others so I can get a better idea of the teams total contributions. As my mom said over and over Im sure you meant well (when you let yourself be listed as a team member), I am not whining or pouting. I would appreciate a response from those that have not responded so I know what other contributions will be coming, whether funds were pledged or not. Please call me at 282-6022, or email at littlemaxiek@yahoo.com as soon as possible.
