CALLING ALL NOTES, TRILLS, SCALES AND PIPES!  We are moving closer to our August 6 deadline for our campaign to renovate the Organ.  To date, we have $32,800 in pledges and $930.00 in non-pledges for a total of $33,730.  The Organ Renovation Committee thanks all that have contributed so generously.  We are just $6,300 from our goal to complete all five phases of the project.  Information on the project and pledge forms are available from David Walda, the Parish Administrator.

CANADIAN LUTHERAN SYNOD APPROVES SAME GENDER BLESSINGS: Approved by 72% of the voting delegates, the resolution said, "That the Eastern Synod of the ELCIC recognizes that the blessing of same-gender couples who want to make a life-long commitment to one another in the presence of God and their community of faith is a matter of pastoral and congregational discretion.  Authorization to perform such blessings shall require the consent of the pastor and the consent of the congregation or calling agency, as expressed by a 2/3 majority vote at a duly called meeting of the congregation or calling agency, and in consultation with the bishop."

OUR THANKS TO LEAH GOLDSTEIN, Pastor Robert’s niece, for her gift of music this morning. Leah is attending the. Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Thanks Leah!

SAVE THE DATE!  This year's GALA is Sunday, September 17.  The event is extra special because we are commemorating the 100-Year Anniversary of the 152 Church Street Building and Cornerstone.  The evening will include a cocktail hour, dinner, silent & live auction and other festivities. We are now accepting auction items.  Talk to your favorite restaurant or store manager today and start bringing in those gift certificates!  Next GALA Committee Meeting is after service on July 23rd.

THE CALL COMMITTEE FOR THE PASTOR OF PARISH PROGRAMS is currently updating the parish profile and needs your assistance in updating St. Francis member demographics. Your participation will assist the committee in the statistical analysis of our members. Within the next week or so, you will be receiving a mailing with the profile data currently on file. Once received, please review the information, make any changes and return it to the church office. Thanks.

OUR VISION OF LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS IS NEEDED.

Remember Teheran LGBT persons at they light candles on July 19.

Mr. Arsham Parsi, spokesperson for the Persian Gay and Lesbian Organization, said "Individual gays and lesbians in Iran, in the privacy and safety of their homes, on July 19, will light candles in solidarity with the global vigils for the two gay teenagers hanged in Mashad," Parsi commented. "Even though they can't gather in public to demand respect of their human rights, gay and lesbian Iranians will participate in the worldwide action by lighting candles, symbolizing freedom and democracy."

You can join Michael Petrelis and Pastor Robert in this international protest at the San Francisco Remembrance:

Location: Harvey Milk Plaza, Castro and Market Streets
