AIDS WALK 2006 UPDATE: There are a total of 182 walkers now; $11,675 has been raised by 26 on-line pledges, up from 22 walkers with $9925.00 last week. Of that, 12 are Lutherans, two more than last week (welcome Jim A & Jane M)  This is good! Last Monday, an email or letter was sent to all walkers asking them to email or phone Max if they are planning to eat with us at our barbecue in the park. As of Thursday, 17 have responded. A head count is needed no later than Thursday, July 13. Please call Max at 415-282-6022 or the email littlemaxiek at yahoo.com  In the meantime, keep soliciting. And don't forget about my euphorbias. Max Kirkeberg

CALLING ALL PIPES: While we are getting closer to our $40,000 goal for the Organ Renovation, we still have many opportunities for giving;  anywhere from the $100 to $1,000 level.  We still need about $6,000 to meet our goal.

Please contact the Parish Administrator, David Walda, for a pledge form and a copy of "The Organ at St. Francis". Pledges are due by August 6.  As was mentioned, donor names will be on a brass plaque, and donations can be made in memory or in honor of someone.

If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Organ Renovation Committee.

WE WELCOME TO OUR PULPIT this morning the Reverend. John Goldstein, the younger brother of Pastor Robert.  Pastor John is Associate Pastor of Development at St. Paulus Church.  He has been a missionary to Peru and created a visionary ministry for immigrants and immigration law in Yuma, Arizona.  Welcome Pastor John!

MEET WITH THE CALL COMMITTEE FOR PASTOR OF PARISH PROGRAMS: The Call Committee would like to give the congregation the opportunity to discuss your concerns, questions, etc., with the Call Committee. We are scheduling meetings for two Sundays, July 23 at 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM and July 30 at 12:30 PM in the conference room. Please join us!

THE CALL COMMITTEE FOR THE PASTOR OF PARISH PROGRAMS is currently updating the parish profile and needs your assistance in updating St. Francis member demographics. Your participation in updating your personal information will assist the committee in the statistical analysis of our members. In the next few weeks, the committee will be asking you to fill out a form and return it to the office by the end of July. If you have any questions, please contact a committee member.

SAVE THE DATE!  This year's GALA is Sunday, September 17.  The event is extra special because we are commemorating the 100-Year Anniversary of the 152 Church Street Building and Cornerstone.  The evening will include a cocktail hour, dinner, silent & live auction and other festivities. We are now accepting auction items.  Talk to your favorite restaurant or store manager today and start bringing in those gift certificates!  We will be available today at Coffee Hour to distribute Donor Letters and to answer any questions you have about the GALA.

OUR VISION OF LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS IS NEEDED.

Remember Teheran LGBTI persons at they light candles on July 19.

Mr. Arsham Parsi, spokesperson for the Persian Gay and Lesbian Organization, said "Individual gays and lesbians in Iran, in the privacy and safety of their homes, on July 19, will light candles in solidarity with the global vigils for the two gay teenagers hanged in Mashad," Parsi commented. "Even though they can't gather in public to demand respect of their human rights, gay and lesbian Iranians will participate in the worldwide action by lighting candles, symbolizing freedom and democracy."

You can join Michael Petrelis and Pastor Robert in this international protest at the San Francisco Remembrance:
Location: Harvey Milk Plaza, Castro and Market Streets
Time: 5:00 pm
