UPDATE ON WEI HAUR: He arrived as scheduled Thursday. Fortunately, only one piece of luggage was lost.

AIDS WALK 2006 UPDATE: There are 181 registered walkers, no change from last week. There are 22 walkers that have solicited on-line, 5 more than last week.  Ten persons are Lutherans. The total funds raised on-line is now $9,925.00. A year ago at this time there was $6775.00 pledged, a significant increase. Hey! This is good news. Keep giving.  I also have a bunch of euphorbia cuttings that have now rooted and need homes. They range from 1 to 3; easy to maintain. They need light and sparse watering. They come in clay pots & saucers. Can you help me? Call me at 415-282-6022.      Max Kirkeberg

PLEDGES FOR THE ORGAN RENOVATION FUND: Enough pledges were collected last week to proceed with the first three phases of the Organ Renovation Project. The St. Francis Foundation is in the final stages of establishing a line of credit for the funding of the project in compliance with the Resolutions that were approved by the Congregation on June 18. Once that is done, the Council will sign the contract with the Organ builder for the initial stages of the project. However, we still need more pledges to proceed with the completion. The Organ Renovation Committees goal is the have enough money raised so that the Council can sign a contract for the remainder of the project prior to August 1. After August 1, costs may increase. Please mail your pledges to the Church, Attention Dale Leininger, or put them in the Sunday Offering Plate.

If you would like a pledge form, or a copy of "The Organ at St. Francis", which discusses the project, please contact David Walda at the Church Office. If you have questions, please contact a member of the Organ Renovation Committee.

A WORSHIP TASK FORCE is being formed by Pastor Robert. The first meeting is set for July 8 at 9 AM in the Conference Room. Everyone involved in worship, from Sacristan to Ushers are invited to attend. We will discuss and plan the nature of our worship at St. Francis, and make practical decisions to make our worship go even better.

THE CALL COMMITTEE FOR THE ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF PARISH PROGRAMS is currently updating the parish profile and needs your assistance in updating St. Francis member demographics. Your participation in updating your personal information will assist the committee in the statistical analysis of our members. In the next few weeks, the committee will be asking you to fill out a form and return it to the office by the end of July. If you have any questions, please contact a committee member.

PFLAG FEATURED GUESTS at their next meeting on July 9 will be Leslie Ewing, Fund Development Director and Renata Razza, Staff Receptionist from Lyon-Martin Womens Health Services

FRIENDS OF THE ST. FRANCIS CHILDCARE would like to thank everyone from St. Francis Lutheran Church that helped make our Spring Fling fundraiser a great success. Thanks to everyone involved, we raised over $37,000.  Your participation helps make it possible for us to continue providing quality child care to our community.

REMEMBER TEHRAN LGBT PERSONS AT THEY LIGHT CANDLES ON JULY 19.  Mr. Arsham Parsi, spokesperson for the Persian Gay and Lesbian Organization, said "Individual gays and lesbians in Iran, in the privacy and safety of their homes, on July 19, will light candles in solidarity with the global vigils for the two gay teenagers hanged in Mashad," Parsi commented. "Even though they can't gather in public to demand respect of their human rights, gay and lesbian Iranians will participate in the worldwide action by lighting candles, symbolizing freedom and democracy."
