AIDS WALK 2006 UPDATE: The walk is one month away, so now is the time to get cooking on acquiring sponsors. Out of 180+ registered team members, I have data on only those who are raising funds via computer. Those 13 have raised $5,325.00 , with about half of that coming from the team of RM & RZ,  Lutherans. Of the 13, 9 are geographers, and 4 are Lutherans. So, fellow Lutherans, I sure do hope you've been busy collecting penga the old fashioned way. As for me, I've sent out over 200, and now have 45 sponsors - all local and have raised about $4,000. Go, go, go! Any questions, please call me at 415-282-6022. Max Kirkeberg

The Call Committee for the Associate Pastor of Parish Programs met for the first time on Thursday June 1. Lynne Ohlson, chair of the prior Call Committee gave this new Call Committee information on the process, etc. Dale Leininger was selected chair of the committee. Pastor Goldstein will attend the meetings to give his comments, questions and concerns on candidates.  The committee will be installed during the worship service today.

Our best wishes go to The Reverend Penny Nixon and to the Metropolitan Community Church on the resignation of Pastor Nixon from the ministry of their parish. May God bless them both in the years ahead.

Join the St. Francis Team for the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Race for the Cure on September 24. The team is registered on the website at www.sfkomen.org. More information will follow in later editions of the St. Francis Times.

SPECIAL CONGREGATION MEETING TODAY. Members of the congregation are encouraged to attend a special congregation meeting in the Parish Hall after the 11:00 am worship service today. The purpose of the meeting is to authorize several initiatives regarding the organ renovation project. Copies of the project proposal and notes from the May 21 congregational conversation about the project will be available. A quorum of the voting members is required for this meeting.

The recommendations for the organ are:

· Replace the existing keyboard with a new P&S Organ Supply Keyboard.

· Wire keys and thumb pistons into the existing system.

· Install a new 36" x 48" reservoir to be installed for the Great and an 18" x 24" reservoir for the Pedal.

· Also new 6" wind lines to be installed replacing the 4" wind lines in certain areas.

· Tonally regulate the upper work of the Great.  This would begin by setting the most important stop in the organ the 4" Principal and proceeding to the higher pitches of the Great.  Each pipe will be adjusted for volume, timbre and speech.

· Add the Regal pipes to the organ playable in the Pedal   division at 16 8 and 4 pitches.

· Install a MIDI expander system capable of reproducing the 176 sampled pipe organ sounds along with two studio powered monitor speakers.

Be sure to stay for the meeting and get the full details on restoring our organ.

Thanks to the Organ Renovation Task Force consisting of: Rob Byrne, Debora Tully, Paul Brenner, Michael Callahan, Jim Asp, Gene Clark, Jim Lokken, Evan Ardley, Jim Barron, Ken Hedrick, and Timur Muhrlin.

Office Hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Only those meetings which directly involve our congregation are listed. Times and space which appear to be open may not be available. Please check with the office for meeting space and time.
