INSTALLATION. The Installation Eucharist for Pr. Goldstein will be held the Fourth Sunday in Lent, March 26, at 2:30 PM. This important event for undertaking our vision is also an opportunity to witness to the larger Lutheran and religious community. Bishop Landahl from Chicago will be the preacher, Pr. Dan Solberg, Dean of San Francisco Conference, will be installing and Pr. Susan Strouse, First United Lutheran Church, will preside. Invitations will be extended to other churches and synagogues for participation. ADULT STUDY GROUP: Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM in the Conference Room. Come and join lively discussions, sharing of diverse opinions, and the experience of support for each persons spiritual journey and contributions. MEMBERSHIP INQUIRY CLASSES will meet at 10:30 AM on Saturdays March 4, 11, 18, and 25. Whether you plan to join or not, you are invited to attend. New Members will be received at the Easter Vigil. See Pr. Goldstein. ASH WEDNESDAY, March 1. Imposition of the ashes at 1:30 PM and 7:00 PM. EVENSONG: The Church of St. Savior cordially invites the members of St. Francis to a sung Evensong, Wednesday, February 22nd at 6:30 PM, here at St. Francis, in celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of the founding of The New Church - Inclusive Anglican Reform, as well as the 2nd Anniversary of the consecration of Bishop Rusty Clyma. A reception will follow. SAVE THE DATE: Saturday evening, May 20, 2006, Spring Fling Silent Auction Fundraiser to benefit Friends of St. Francis Childcare Center. Mark your calendars now and join us for an evening of great food, drinks, a silent auction, a raffle and entertainment. Spring Fling 2006 will be held at the S. F. County Fair Building at Ninth Avenue and Lincoln Way. PARTICIPATION IN ST. FRANCIS CHOIR. Each Sunday morning rehearsal is at 9:00 AM. HOSPITALITY HOUR serves about 60 to 65 people each Sunday morning at 8:45 AM. Volunteers are needed to help with welcoming, serving juice, preparing breakfast, and cleaning up. A good friend of Sylvia Braselmann and Kathy Emery and a science teacher at Mission High School, Derrlyn Tom, are setting up a scholarship fund for Jacqueline, one of her students. We salute our African American friends and neighbors for their accomplishments and contributions. MARDI GRAS FUNDRAISER: The East Bay (Lutheran) Youth Program is having a fundraiser on Saturday February 25th from 5:30 to 9:30 PM at: Joaquin Miller Community Center (Inside Joaquin Miller Park) 3594 Sanborn Drive, Oakland. HELP US UPDATE OUR MEMBERS BOARD: Max Kirkeberg will be available over the next several weeks to take your picture during coffee hour. ANNUAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS: The congregation annual meeting was held last Sunday with 54 voting members in attendance. Highlights included: 1) Approving the proposed 2006 budget for $565,657.00. Many thanks to Dale Leininger for guiding us through this discussion; 2) Recognizing out-going Council members Bruce Jervis (President), Jane Moyer (Vice President) and Richard Penrose for their service, especially Bruce Jervis for his dedication as Council President the past two years; 3) Electing Scott Beckerley, Rob Byrne and Debora Tully (three-year terms) and Mike Callahan (one-year term) to congregation council, Valerie Wagner and Arthur Morris as congregational representatives to the Nominating committee, and Glenda Lisk to the Audit committee. Officers for 2006 are Grant Burger (President), Sarah Wells (Vice President), Susan Tucceri (Secretary) and Dale Leininger (Treasurer); 4) Passing a resolution to renew a term call to the Rev. Pieter Oberholzer as Missionary at Large for Inclusive & Affirming Ministries, South Africa to Annual Meeting 2007; 5) Passing a resolution to extend a term call to Pr. Ruth Frost as Chaplain to the Extraordinary Candidacy Project to March 31, 2006. Thank you all for your partnership in faith and ministry.
